with the famous nickname "Sea-Floating Garden", is
a well-known harbor city in Southeast China.
Taiwan Straits flows between Xiamen and Taiwan.
Xiamen is one of the five Special Economic Zones
in China, opened to attract investment from mostly Taiwan .as

at such a rapid speed its IT industry has been developing,
that Xiamen has gain a new nickname as "Silicon Island
of China".
Actually, the city itself is a big island, with mountains in the center,
and beaches on the border. Swimming is the hottest sport in its long
summer that lasts for five or six months. Sailing is also gaining
popularity.
Another attraction of the city is Xiamen University,
with good reputation in chemistry, economics, accounting, finance,
biology, and mathematics. The College of Economics ranks the second
in the Nation, right after Peking University.
About 3 million tourists visit Xiamen each year to enjoy the sunshine,
